PLACE FOR NATURE LOVERS: The Himalayan ecosystem is unique, and perhaps no other single geographical feature has greater influence on the life, culture and history of the people of the Indian subcontinent than these mountains.

ADVENTURES: The terrain of Uttaranchal offers immense opportunities for adventure sports. The region abounds with a splendid combination of flora & fauna, flowing rivers and snow-capped mountains, which are magnificent enough to infuse the sprit of adventure in all. The exhilarating sport of skiing is a big draw. A serious protagonist or a one time prospector of thrills, all find Uttaranchal a perfect spot for this sport.

SKIING & AULI: The Himalayas are the world’s highest mountain chain, and also the youngest. People come from around the world to seek sanctuary from an increasingly populated world relive stress and for the sheer thrill of the adventure. The panoramic Garhwal hills of Uttaranchal with its snow capped slopes are ideal for skiing.

Auli – in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttaranchal it offers exciting skiing opportunities to both, the beginner as well as the advanced skier. Snow capped slopes of Auli specially 3km long slope(2159m-3049m) flanked by tall stately Deodar forests cut the wind velocity to the minimum. Just 16km from Joshimath on the Badrinath route, Auli offers a 180 panoramic view of Himalayan peaks like the nanda Devi, Kamet, Mana Parvat & Dunagiri.

It is found that the slopes compared favorably with those in Europe. Seasonal skiers have a clean stretch of 10-20 km of absolutely virgin slopes to sport on . Auli has been easily adapted for family with children too young to try the skill of skiing. One can enjoy the Cable Car rides and rope lifts. The evenings bring the excitement of warmh around fires, with a shared camaraderie. It is a spectacular sight to see the sun rising over the high snow peaks- quite early in the morning.

WATER SPORTS: Go canoeing, Kayaking or rafting in the wild rivers of Uttaranchal. Pit your will and skill against nature as you race the rapids, manoeuver the bends, speed along gorges and break into sparkling surf.

White Water River Rafting: The sacred River Ganga offers the professional as well as the professional as well as the amateur the exhilaration of white rafting. The rivers of Alaknanda & Bhagirathi, are the main tributaries of the Ganga and meet at Devprayag, frothing from their racy descent. The rivers Alaknanda(Grade III-IV), Bhagirathi (Grade III-IV) & the Ganga (Grade II-IV) challenge the expert to survive the thrill. The best period for rafting is from October to April.

TREKKING: The Himalayas are the trekker’s delight. The adventure component adds the spice of uncertainly. The rugged beauty of the mountainscape of Himalaya is too difficult to resist for adventure seekers. The best time for organizing these treks is in May, June & September.

The trekking are- Valley of Flowers Trek, Khatling Sahasratal Trek, Har ki doon Trek, Roopkund Trek, Kuari Pass Trek, Binsar Trek, Nagtibba Trek &Rishikesh Auli Kuari Pass Tapovan Trek.
